  1. Q Is this product lactose free?
    A Hi Christy, the simple answer is "no". Whey proteins are filtered from milk and there are trace amounts of lactose in all whey proteins. Even "lactose free" whey proteins may have 0.5% lactose, however, the FDA allows these products to claim zero. Designer Whey may contain as much as 3% lactose.
  2. Q Hi, does the new packaging have a kosher symbol? I don't see it in the back by the ingredients.
    A As to a symbol on the package I can't say but it's 100 % Whey powder.This is from the ad "Clean & Natural Ingredients. Our powders are GMO-free with no artificial flavors, sweeteners, colors or preservatives. No artificial growth hormones or artificial antibiotics. Gluten-free. Kosher. Made in USA.Notice the word Kosher.
  3. Q Fat and Cholesterol Count? Creamy?
    A Fat is: Total 2g (3% Daily Value), Saturated fat 1g (3% DV), Trans Fat 0gCholesterol is 60mg (20%DV).As for whether it's creamy, I'd describe it as smooth. It depends on how much water you choose to add to vary it, but I have stuck with the recommended 8oz. :-)

    A yes
  5. Q Whats the percentage of whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate in gourmet chocolate flavor?
    A It doesn’t specify, but due to the much lower price point (compared to isolate products) and the fact that “concentrate” is listed a few items before on the ingredients list, I’m very confident that it has a much higher percentage of whey concentrate. Hope this helps. I’ve had great experience with these products for many, many years.
  6. Q Has anyone tried baking with this?
    A Yes you can! Designer Whey also has recipes that you can make, like cookies, waffles or pancakes and muffins!
  7. Q How much potasium is in the product?
    A 100 mg per serving/scoop.
  8. Q Is this product tested for heavy metals and pesticides
    A As for as I know this product doesn’t have heavy metals or pesticides. I have a sensitive stomach and this product is the first not to give me a bloated stomach.
  9. Q What are the taste differences between double chocolate and gourmet chocolate?
    A Years ago I tried flavored Whey and didn't like the flavor-taste added to my drinks& ceral so I settled on either unflavored or Vanilla. That said, you'd probably have to have gourmet taste-buds to tell the difference...

    A Yes, this product has stevia leaf extract in it.

    A I see you got the French Vanilla.... I looked and mine is Unflavored. ... No bad smell at all.... Does it smell okay once you mix it with water or other? If so, I recommend you get the Unflavored next time. Perhaps Amazon will exchange it.... It really blends easily without a mixer.
  15. Q I don't see anything in the ingredients about what the strawberry flavor is (not listed as an ingredient)?
    A I would not buy this product from Amazon online. Buy from the designer whey website. I have gotten counterfeit product buying it from Amazon
  16. Q Where does the 2 grams of sugar in this come from?
    A Lactose (milk sugar). No added sugar such as sucrose or fructose.
  17. Q I see four ingredients listed on front bottom of container, but can't make out the numbers? What kind of sugar? Also provide me ingredients label?
    A Let me also say that it does report (on nutritional facts) that there are only 2 g. sugar (as reported earlier) just from the milk ingredients and/or cream! Total carbohydrate is 6 g., and total fat is 2 g. while total protein per serviing is 19 grams per serving!

    A Since 2016, the lecithin in Designer Whey products is derived from Sunflower, not soy. Designer Whey contains NO soy.

    A All flavors of Designer Whey Protein Powders are gluten-free certified! They are composed of pure whey proteins derived from cow's milk, and do not contain any traces of gluten, wheat, corn, rye, or any other grain. There is also no possibility of cross-contamination as the manufacturing facility does not mix or bottle any products that contain these grains.

  23. Q Can you tell me when this item will expire if I purchase it within 3 days of this question being answered? Need to be sure it has shelf life left.
    A When it comes to supplements they usually good about sending a product with a long shelf life. So you don't have to worry about that. I ordered my Designer Whey on 12-2-14 and the expiration date was Sept. 2016. So you're going to have at least a year and a half of shelf life.

    A The French Vanilla and Summer Strawberry are definitely Kosher. I'm not sure about other flavors, but I believe they are. If you use the magnifier, the Kosher symbol is on the front lower right. Hope this helps.

    A It has a light pink hue; which I’m guessing is from the “beet powder” on the ingredient list.....a much healthier and safer ingredient than artificial coloring.
  29. Q how much is the scoop? mine came without it.
    A I tried measuring in Tablespoons and close to 4. Sometimes the scoops get buried down in powder.
