    A Thanks for the question. Histixine is not an essential amino acid after infancy so is not needed if the other 8 are present in the correct ratio. The ratio of the formula is based on the clinical published research with 50% of the blend being Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine. The FUNDAMINOS formula has been around now for almost 10 yearswith thousands of users. It works quite well.     A Just what it says. It is a flavoring derived from fruit. In this case it is a tropical blend. There are synthetic flavors on the market but we do not use anything artificial.     A That is a typo. We used to have serving size of 10 grams with a larger scoop and found people wanted the option to take 5 grams once or twice daily so we reduced the scoop size to 5 grams and suggest 1 to 4 servings daily depending on needs and goals. So at 5 grams there are 30 servings in the jar and 60 servings in the bag. The key point is the jar contains 150 grams of EAA blend and the bag contains 300 grams of EAA blend. FYI. We came out with the jar to provide a lower cost option for those wanting to use periodically and to provide a higher quality and have a price point below other EAA blends that also provide 150 grams of EAA.     A Yes, it changed about 6-9 months ago. The product is the same. I used it to bulk up 10lb over 6 months last year
  6. Q How is 1 serving equal to 40g of protein? How is this statement qualified?
    A Thanks for the question. The essential amino acid formula blend that we used as both had published researched and we have done in house nitrogen loss studies to show that the net nitrogen utilization is 99%. This means that virtually all of the amino acids are absorbed and utilized for anabolic purposes including strength and repair. This is why FundAminos essential amino acids have 0 calories. Dietary proteins including protein powders have a biological value between 20 to 28% which means even with perfect digestion of the protein, 75% of the protein is used for energy and approx 25% used for anabolic purposes. This is why protein has 4 calories/gram. So based on these numbers, 10 grams of amino acids provide 9.9 grams of anabolic activity while you will need 40 grams of dietary protein (at 25% efficiency) to achieve the same benefit. In fact, most people are only getting 20% value from protein or less. In addition, using large amounts of protein is acid creating and provides a inflammatory load due to high methionine content. The upshot..keep dietary protein on a lower level 20% of daily calories and then use essential amino acids to get all the benefits of higher amounts of protein without any of the downside.   22. Q I'm confused -- both jar 195g and bag 300g states 10g amino per scoop; however, jar states 6.5 g scoop and bage 13g scoop. Am I reading incorrectly?
    A Thanks for the question. There was a typo on our first run of jars. The formulation on the jar and bag are exactly the same. Only difference is the jar contains 195 grams and the bag contains 390 grams. With our latest batch we have reduced the scoop size to a 6.5 grams which provides 5 grams of the EAA blend. We recommend people shoot for at least 2 scoops daily. The small scoop allows you to more easily split dosing to receive 5 grams of EAA in AM and then either 5 to 10 grams (1 to 2 scoops) after physical activity or later in the day.Rick Cohen, m.D.PureClean Performance
