- Waxy Maize is a complex carbohydrate with a relatively low Glycemic Index that is made from corn and would be somewhat similar to corn starch. The Glycemic index of Waxy Maize is about 70 (slightly higher than oatmeal but far below sugar). This is probably the key ingedient behind why this product works so well. You can literally take a full serving of this product and eat a normal meal 30-60 minutes later.
