I just started taking this and now see that it is based on aspartate, and read that is the same as aspartame -- a neurotoxin--is this true?Back to product

  1. Aspartame is digested into aspartate, which is an excitatory neurotransmitter and is what's in this supplement. At high doses (like those in this), it can potentially stimulate neurons to the point of injury or cell death. Excitotoxicity is the term used in the scientific literature to describe this sort of neuronal damage caused by excessive excitatory-amino-acid signaling.In short, Aspartate is very similar to MSG and will give you many issues down the line, especially if you're sensitive to aspartame or MSG.I'm personally very happy I looked it up before buying!
