Questions and answers of the customers

  1. A From Nutiva.com Hemp FAQ:"Q. Are hemp foods legal to import, buy and consume in the United States? A. Yes. The case HIA v DEA established that hemp foods are exempt from control in the Controlled Substances Act. An excellent overview of the case can be found on the Vote Hemp web site on their DEA Hemp Food Rules page. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals opinion invalidating DEA final rules can be downloaded here.Q. If I recently consumed hemp foods, could I fail a drug test? A. If the only source of the psychoactive THC in your body is from hemp foods, produced from Canadian grown hemp seeds and eaten in reasonable quantities, it is virtually impossible to fail a drug test by ingesting hemp foods due to the fact that THC levels in our products are barely measurable. The TestPledge program is a voluntary commitment by the North American hemp food industry to limit THC concentrations to levels where they cannot result in positive drug tests. Nutiva joined the TestPledge program in 2001. Nutiva's hemp food products meet Canadian government and TestPledge standards for hemp foods. We recommend that you read the TestPledge Answers page first. If you need more technical information please download and read the study summary "Evaluating Interference of THC in Hemp Food Products With Employee Drug Testing," which was prepared by Gero Leson, D.Env. and Petra Pless. Please click here to download. (PDF file 21k)10-17-2007Here is an e-mail we received about Nutiva Organic Hemp Protein powder and drug testing from a Department of Defense employee:I work for the Department of Defense and was finally selected for random urinalysis after 18 years. I wasn't the least bit worried - until that night when I went home to fix a fruit shake in which I use your hemp protein powder. As I took it out of the refrigerator, it suddenly occurred to me that it has a very small amount of THC in it. Having been a drug/alcohol abuse officer in the Air Force years ago, I understood the potential implications, including the fact that THC is detectable far longer than many drugs of abuse. I called Nutiva the next day, and was told that because you can't ever know what other behaviors a customer may be engaging in, you cannot say for certain that your products could not cause a positive urinalysis for THC. However, I was assured that it was HIGHLY unlikely by itself - especially the protein powder because of the way it's processed (i.e. lower oil content than some other products). I promised to provide you with feedback either way my test turned out. My understanding is that the Department of Defense uses state-of-the-art testing. I passed, despite using your hemp protein powder multiple times every week for months. I know it's no guarantee, but it may relieve others who are not using illegal substances but who may be using your products, and become concerned about drug testing. Thanks."
  2. A There is 8g or 32% of Dietary fiber and 15g or 30% of protein. Percentages are based on 2000 calorie diet.
  3. A This protein is shelf stable, however it is recommended in the package to refrigerate after opening. I have kept it both in and out of my refrigerator without problems. Nowadays I usually keep it refrigerated to prevent any damage to the fat content naturally occurring in the hemp protein ( which by the way is not much).
  4. A Video could not be loaded
  5. A From what I read %90 of CBD oil is processed OUT of product although super healthy. If you're interested in an awesome American made CBD oil...I am a HEMPWORX affiliate. I sell the pet products in our pet salon. --->www.hempworx.com/kjdixon. I take it twice daily. It works with guarantee. It's all about the seeds/soil. Colo. & Tenn, & Ky...grows the best because it's indigenous. Never buy imported hemp. Low quality and has tested positive for pesticides & mold. Buyer beware now that hemp business is exploding. CBD oil now legal in all 50 states!😉
  6. A According to nutiva, this organic hemp protein powder is made by cold ordering without the use of hexane. See info at https://store.nutiva.com/hemp-protein/
  7. A I don't know how it will taste straight up in water. I only have tried it in Almond milk. It's especially good in Almond Chocolate milk.
  8. A I noticed that too. They obviously changed their formula, don't know why. It was good the original way.
  9. A Since I got this product in powder form there was no information regarding whether or not the seeds had been irradiated.

  11. A Thank you for your inquiry. Raw shelled hempseed is the richest known source of polyunsaturated fats, containing a perfect 3:1 ratio of omega-6 linoleic acid and omega-3 linoleic acid. In fact, the hemp seed balance of Omega 3 to 6 fats is the perfect proportion for human dietary needs. We simply remove the seeds' hard shells, yielding a 100% raw culinary product that tastes like pine nuts. You can enjoy hempseed straight out of the bag or sprinkle on your favorite foods. Nutiva's organic hemp protein powders are made with whole, raw hemp seeds that have had the oil expeller pressed from them. This process removes about 90% of the oil content out of the seeds. The resulting seed cake is then cold milled and sifted to varying degrees to make hemp protein powder with the two different levels of fiber and protein, the Organic Hemp Protein 15g and Organic Hemp Protein Hi Fiber. 12. A Yes, it is as of February 9, 2015. Though it seems it wasn't resealable sometime before this.
  13. A Just checked the package purchased about 30 days ago. Still says 3 tbs for 15 g of protein.
  14. A Hi Phoenix!Thank you for your recent purchase of Nutiva Organic Hemp Protein powder through Amazon. Nutiva Hemp Protein powders are produced from organically grown hemp seeds with the oils extracted from them. There are no chemicals, preservatives or additives to any of our products. We are happy to further discuss California Proposition 65 and our updated labels with you. Please reach out to us at [email protected]. We are looking forward to hearing from you!
  15. A Yes you could use it in tea however it tastes very green... it's much better in smoothies. You could always use small amounts of it in your tea and mask the taste with extra honey.
  16. A Thank you for your inquiry. That is correct, all of our Hemp product labels changed from hemp to hemp seed. Please reach out to our Customer Service Team at [email protected] for the most current Nutrition Facts Panel for our products. The Nutiva Team
  17. A This is a different product then hemp hearts /seeds. From my understanding it contains more of the actual plant; therefore the higher fiber content. It has the earthy taste you would expect from a plant protein powder. I wouldn't say it was chalky at all but I always mix into a smoothie and add another protein source (pea powder) for a more complete protein. Hope this helps...
  18. A The product is USDA certified organic. Hemp naturally does not contain gluten unless there is cross-contamination from wheat grain. However, certified organic means that cross-contamination does not happen. Below are claims that Nutiva Organic states:PREMIUM DIET COMPATIBILITY: Nutiva Organic, Cold-Processed Hemp Protein is an ideal source of Omega 3 fats and antioxidants, just right for vegetarian, vegan, raw, whole food, paleo, ketogenic, and gluten-free diets.COMMITMENT TO QUALITY: Nutiva partners with Canadian farmers to source the world’s finest organic, non-GMO, sustainably grown hemp seeds and stringently adheres to USDA certified organic and non-GMO guidelines to deliver superfood that is good for you and good for the planet.
  19. A It does not contain stevia. The only ingredient is hemp protein.
  20. A 15g total. Alanine 0.5g, Arginine 2.4g, Aspartic Acid 1.8g, Cyteine 0.3g, Glutamic Acid 2.8g, Glycine 0.5g, Histidine 0.5g, Isoleucine 0.5g, Leucine 0.8g, Lycine 0.4g, Methionine 0.3g, Phenylalanine 0.5g, Proline 0.7g, Serine 0.8g, Threonine 0.7g, Tryptophan 0.1g, Tyrosine 0.4g, Valine 0.7g.
  21. A Peak Protein is the new name of our Organic Hemp Protein Powder previously called 15G. It’s still the same exact protein-rich product you love to include in your daily smoothies and shakes. We just gave it a fresh name to better reflect that it contains the highest concentration of plant-based protein of any of our products! Please feel free to reach out to our Customer Service Team anytime. The Nutiva Team
  22. A Thank you for your inquiry. Our Organic Hemp Protein has a shelf life of 18 months from the date in which it is packed in our facilities until the recommended best by date. It's hard to know what Amazon is shipping, since they rotate inventory quickly. Please feel free to reach out to our Customer Service Team at help(@)nutiva.com for more accurate dates. The Nutiva Team
  23. A I see. The issue is not only with glutamic acid. Chemically speaking glutamic acid must have both free sodium ions and a catalyst to create the MSG. See attached article with various references from the FDA, NIH, and others.https://fixyourgut.com/msg-in-your-protein/
  24. A No, it does not contain sugar. The front of the package says: Just Hemp. No Additives. The Ingredients list states: Organic hemp protein. Contains no hexane, soy, dairy, lactose, or sweeteners. Maybe someone's taste buds are different from mine, but it isn't exactly sweet tasting to me. Of course, I blend it with whatever fruits or vegetables I have on hand and water for a smoothie. The hemp powder is pretty tasteless in that mix, although it does turn the smoothie a light greenish brown color. It does the trick in boosting my protein intake and is reasonably priced, especially compared to other vegan protein powders.
  25. A I would think that yes it is, but would be best to check with Nutiva
  26. A Mine says 30%protein, 5% fat, 32%fiber: iron40% magnesium 60% zinc 25% and amino acids: potassium 11%. Well that's it
  27. A It hasn't, look closely at the nutritional label, it's still the same, 15g per serving size 3 tbsp (30g).3lb bag is 48oz...16oz=1lb, so 16x3=48oz.NOW, if u mean "regular" by the hemp HI FIBER, then u get 11g/ 3tbsp for the 3lb(48oz) bag. And that's bc w/ that hemp product, u get MORE FIBER per tbsp to replace some of the protein. It's implied in the label. Nutriva makes it that way, it depends what your needs are. More fiber, slightly more carbs, less protein.
  28. A on the 30 oz bag:Best before 06 Aug 2020Lot: 060219R25Why are you asking for the lot code? What info does that give you beside what lot it is?
  29. A No. You may be avle to buy it in vanilla however, I like it plain. It seems to have no taste to change what you put in your shake or whatever your use is. I do like it though!
  30. A I did not find the high fiber version lumpy, chunky, or gritty. I can only assume the high protein powder is more expensive because it is higher in protein. I did not feel any different when I used the high protein powder and I lift weights/ do body weight workouts five days a week. Because I didn't feel a difference, I use the high fiber powder to save on cost.
  31. A Yes, the seeds are made "sterile" by way of a simple mechanical process to remove the hard outer shell.
  32. A I'm sure it would depend on your time of purchase since most expiration dates varie.
  33. A Nothing cause mine stay sealed on my shelf
  34. A Nowhere on the package does it say isolate. It does say certified organic and not processed with hexane, also vegan. It says "Of the protein, 66% is edestin (a bioactive globulin protein that's easy to digest)..." Organic hemp protein is the only ingredient listed, but fiber & essential fatty acids are mentioned elsewhere on the label. Hope this helps.
  35. A It taste like raw hemp protein. (probably not the answer you wanted to hear LOL) A little nutty in taste. Some hate it and i totally get that. Since I can't handle whey protein at ALL, I use it to boost another product (IsAgenix dairy free berry isalean shake). This hemp protein doesn't play well with too many other flavors so I only use it with the berry. It makes sense since the berry (isagenix) shake uses hemp protein already so it plays real well with it. I deal with this as it has only 90 calories and provides an additional 15 grams of protein. Another tip is to use 5grams of cacao powder too and wow, you just rediscovered what I have been doing every day.
  36. A Only 1 gram per 3 tablespoons. I see sugar listed in all kinds of products that I don't expect it. Not a significant amount to me.
  37. A Yes you can. That is how I do it. It is a little gritty but it is better if you use more water. I use 30 oz for 3 tbls. By the way it taste nutty. I actually like the taste.
  38. A I would definitely contact the supplier. I usually order the larger bag of hemp protein and store it in my freezer and take it out as needed - never had an issue with an expiration date.
