  1. Q What is the source of the gelatin please ?
    A It’s beef gelatin (bovine) from North America. You can probably find a vegan friendly ZMA from the same company if that is what you are interested in. I know that NOW offers vegan products as well. Hope this helps.

    A I don't know. I do know this brand works great and didn't upset my stomach. Deep sleep awesome dreams!

  4. Q What could I order that would be equal to this product?
    A There are other brands of ZMA, like Optimum Nutrition, that have about the same amounts of zinc, magnesium and vitamin B6.
  5. Q This has a Proposition 65 warning. What is in this product that makes you have to have this warning?
    A Not sure where you found prop 65. My bottle has no warning there are only 4 ingredients. Zinc, magnesium, b6, apartate
  6. Q What exactly is the 2.4g blend on the nutrition label? Aren't the three ingredients listed above supposed to be the only ones in "ZMA"?
    A This is Now Foods proprietary blend of those ingredients. Looks like the ingredients are the same just in proprietary blend. Hope this helps.
  7. Q How big are they?
    A Not too big, maybe a knuckles and a quarter worth? I would say that my hands are pretty average size!

  9. Q Does this product contain melatonin?
    A The bottle I received did not contain melatonin. I find magnesium works much better for my needs. Melatonin only works for me for about three hours then I'm awake.
  10. Q What type of gelatin capsules is it?
    A The ingredients on the label say gelatin. There's only one type of gelatin that I know of, I'm pretty certain that comes from animal bones. I'm not really sure of other types...... You might be thinking of cellulose capsules which are made from corn, which are not used in this product.
  11. Q CA Prop 65 warning for lead and mercury!? Is there any other brands that people recommend?
    A Every product practically has that California label. It's from the Looney left. Don't worry about it. My sandles have that label.
  12. Q Is this vegan?
    A The bottle does not indicate but it says they do not contain any wheat, gluten, soy, milk, egg fish or shellfish. But other ingredients include gelatin so I would assume they are not.
  13. Q I just started taking this and now see that it is based on aspartate, and read that is the same as aspartame -- a neurotoxin--is this true?
    A Aspartame is digested into aspartate, which is an excitatory neurotransmitter and is what's in this supplement. At high doses (like those in this), it can potentially stimulate neurons to the point of injury or cell death. Excitotoxicity is the term used in the scientific literature to describe this sort of neuronal damage caused by excessive excitatory-amino-acid signaling.In short, Aspartate is very similar to MSG and will give you many issues down the line, especially if you're sensitive to aspartame or MSG.I'm personally very happy I looked it up before buying!
  14. Q My research suggests that Picolinate is the best form of Zinc, yet I can't find any ZMA products that use it. Can someone explain this or correct me?
    A I would not devote that much time into research about it, ZMA helps a little if any. I have tried the now zma and the optimum nutrition zma and I like the now brand one better.
